| That sounds like a great target Starbuck - I feel like i won't be losing anything this week as i have been eating later at night a lot - I am having a "feeling fat" couple of days - must get along to that gym today as i am not as sore today with muscle ache from that boxercise class - mind you i will have to wait n see how much my body protests when i try n put it through its paces today hehehe. I have something on my timetable from the 10k running schedule, have to do my alternate days weights session and of course my 1 hour swim.
I still need to get out and get my body used to outside exercise for the run - so I am going to try n get out into the Pentland hills and do some hillwalking as that will help me adjust. I will start training with my two mates next week once the kids are back at school. it will be weird having company as i am so used to going it alone, although logic tells me i am fitter than i have been for decades, i am worried about looking puny besides my skinny mates - how daft is that (they know how often i train and they are probably worried about the same with me hehehe) - i keep telling myself that it's only 10k and i could walk that in less than two hours, but i want to have a decent time and its a great first step towards my eventual goal of running a marathon so just the taking part is a good thing and I am really pleased that i am working towards a big goal of mine.

| I'd really love to run a marathon too, bet that would be a great feeling. I can't believe how much training you do, you'll be fine for the 10k. | |

| thanks for the vote of confidence Starbuck - well i managed the "hour of brisk walking" so i am just going to work my way through the training schedule and even if i don't have a super fast time i am still getting fitter I have another half hour thing on the treadmill tonight and have to do my weights programme but have already reached my weekly target for swimming and have done 330 lengths so keep changing my mind if i just do 20 or round up to 400 - i will wait n see how i feel when i get to the pool i suppose. I changed offices and managers in my job yesterday and it's a bit new and strange at the moment - but happy to find out that i will still be mostly on the phones as i had heard it was all emails - bleurgh, i like being on the phones. my new manager is also doing the same 10k run so was sympathetic when i arrived on my first day and asked for a holiday for it so that was handy. well i am starving this morning as i ever ate nearly enough yesterday due to a manky bagette i got that was soggy n tasted of vinegar - so if i move my but i will have time for asda before work to get something nice for my lunch. | |

| hey everyone its a bit quiet on here - hope everyone is doing ok. I am having a good week so far, i am meeting a workmate who has ran the 10k in Strathclyde Park before and i am meeting her from work and we will drive through and go round the route so i can get a feel for the distance - and also see if i can manage it walking/jogging round- and then she will run me me back to work to get my car - how kind is that? - she knows i have no sense of direction and Glasgow way kinda scares me lol. I am going through to Glasgow tomorrow to to meet a close mate that i have not seen for ages so looking forward to that too - so am hoping that my shiny new handbag comes today i am going to have a day off from the gym today with doing the training tonight so going to catch up on housework and my youngest lad is back at school tomorrow so of course he tells me he needs new trousers today lol. | |

| lol Stella - thats the problem with exercise equipment isn't it - it is so damned bulky and unattractive. It takes up so much room.
I hate to admit it but since i have been hammering the gym my weights bench in the downstairs hall is being used as a coathanger. i am fighting the fight to get them all to stop doing this but its almost every day now lol. I must start using it again -again i have to wait n see how demanding my uni schedule is going to be and adjust to that before i can work out how the exercise will be fitting round it and i may start using it again if i cant get along to the gym as much at first.

| Well so much for good intentions!! Got home and he was still there so firtling around in the shed was not appealing - will try tonight - I am determined to tone up !! Saying that - my weights bench (before it got relegated to the shed) made a very attractive shoe rack !! | |

| Helllloooooo!!! Have I missed anything important???? Hope everyone has had a good week!! We had a good holiday, saw a few dolphins, we played on the beach and generally just chilled. It was sooo tranquil, despite the weather being so changeable every few minutes it was lovely!! If fact it was such a shock to the system to come back to the hustle of a busier place and even then we are in a semi-rural area it just seems more crowded and noisy somehow! Oh well....!!!!!! | |

| oh that sounds like a fab holiday - glad you got to see the dolphins. the weather has been a bit mad this week. not missed much it's been kinda quiet. I am just back from paintball - got a few not bad bruises and one absolute cracker on my arm - but not too bad it was a great laugh, i was totally filthy when i got home but would do it again in an instant.
I am gonna have a powernap i think then head off to the gym for a nice relaxing swim. my 10k run programme says today should have been a 25 min gentle run - but been running around like a loony all day so i think that should cover it lol.

I have had a nice chilled summer, but now playtime is over lol.

| You are right Irnbru it is very quiet on here.....in my case its because I am still in holiday mode and really struggling to be good!!! How are you feeling about playtime being over and starting Uni next week? Hope it all goes well for you, I'm sure once you get your timetable you will feel like you can plan your days better. I've been having a look at the courses left in clearing but I still can't make my bloody mind up!!!!! So many issues such as money; time commitment; do I really want to do that subject/job at the end of it? I am sooooo indecisive at the moment!! | |

| 4 Angels - sometimes you just have to let the thoughts percolate for a while to see what drifts to the top, so hopefully you will find something for yourself out there I am actually at the stage where it is "about time!!" - it has been great having the summer in the gym- but I couldn't just go on drifting through like this all the time so I am welcoming the change and it has been a long time coming, it's taken me 2 years to get the HND, so want to put it to good use I am trying to muster up courage this morning to actually go outside run/jogging as I am so used to the comfort zone of the gym and the treadmill, but i really need to build up my time outside - and on my training programme the task for today is a "20 min undulating run" but keep on coming up with "I will just get that done first..." so need to just set a time and go for it. | |

| I know - I am thinking twice about posting again as sometimes when i check no-one has posted and i feel like i am talking to myself lol. I know Stella has not been getting access, but dunno where everyone else has gone. - I am part worried that I have bored everyone to tears with my gym talk - it seems silly if people aren't posting as they haven't lost weight as its a support group but yeah it's like it is just us... | |

| I know what you mean hun, I check to see if their have been new posts and feel that I don't want to start a discussion because I'm talking to myself as well and I get sick of my own voice/words/thoughts!! LOL!!!
Oh well...see what happens and you and I can catch up on facebook now anyway. It might get active once the hols are over?!!
Sometimes I think its because everyone else must have a far busier, interesting life than me though!!!!!

| Sorry girls for not posting enough!
Just feel really guilty posting whilst eating copious amounts of crisps and cheese sandwiches. Jut can't get my head round eating properly again, wish I could.
Gonna try I promise | |

| Believe me Starbuck I'm struggling to get back on the wagon so I can sympathise!!!!
Don't feel guilty about posting if you are struggling to be 'good' (especially in the general chit chat thread!!!!!)
I think I speak for myself and Irnbru as we felt others were perhaps becoming bored by our conversation and that there was little point to the forum when only a couple of us were bouncing posts back and forth.
I don't know we'll have to see what happens but I certainly was becoming very self-conscious about posting. It's not like we're an unfriendly bunch or anything!!!

| Hey Flax - hows it going? - I am doing great, have got metriculation for uni tomorrow and enjoyed my bridging course week. I only managed to get to the gym two mornings before uni - but only have 2 days this week i need to go in, so will have plenty gym time - am just catching up with the housework at the moment lol I am still plodding my way through the 10k beginners programme for my race at the end of October - its getting a bit more amped up - last night i had to go on the treadmill for 45 mins - and managed 35 mins in total at a good pace and 10 mins brisk walking - so not going to break any records but its the taking part that counts eh? on a non gym thing - its our 20th wedding anniversary this month and my hubby bought me a prada handbag which is gorgeous so really pleased with it - then he told me he realised i would need new shoes and an outfit - so massive brownie points to my husband - I am going to wait until December so that I can get a knockout christmas outfit - and am aiming to be about a size 16/18 by then | |

| Hey wonderwoman - hope the new job is going well - I am mega busy with uni at the moment too - i am in 4 days a week and the studying, commuting, juggling the housework and getting to the gym is taking a bit of getting used to. Its only about 5 weeks to my run now and have managed to keep up with the training schedule, but I am having to really focus to keep it all going - I am sure i will get into my stride in the next few weeks | |
