| Irnbru it was an awful shock. One of my closest friends at work was his best mate and he was in bits.
To be honest last night I impressed myself lol don't know where my mum puts it though, the plate was cleared!
Have you decided what you're going to wear yet?
Starbuck - don't apologise - I've always wondered about cooking with tofu - that post was very helpful. Enjoy the monster trucks - I'd love to see that myself.

| Thanks Starbuck that really helped - I am trying to revamp my meals and am looking at different options - please don't apologise for the long posts - I always chatter away - hopefully that doesn't bug people too much. monster trucks does sound like loads of fun - enjoy Hey 4Angels hope you had a great holiday and welcome back - even if the scales move up its easier when you are back on home turf to get back into healthy eating mode again. Stella - it must be quite hard at work, but at least your best workmate has you there to help him I am going to go upstairs and have a rake about - am keeping fingers crossed I can find my black trousers and they fit me comfortably now and if they do I have a black vest top and my chiffon mutli-coloured top (its all purples and pinks) which can go over the top (the top is a bit see through so wouldn't wear it without a cami at least underneath it) - if i wear it with my black open toed shoes it should look smart enough - but will probably change my mind a dozen times lol.

| Stella - I'm so sorry it must be incredibly tough for you at the moment.
Irnbru - hope you have a really nice time when you go out and it sounds like you've got the outfit all sorted out now so enjoy yourself you deserve it!
I'll have to give tofu a whirl as I normally stick to quorn and cook it in a pan first to 'brown' it. I think I have tried it in veggie meals or sausages but have somehow always stuck to buying quorn rather than tofu to use as pretend meat!

| what a silly woman - she decided she is going to gorge herself and call it eating normally - she is eating a helluva lot of really high calorie crap - I think she has kept herself so uber controlled and tightly wound when she stopped that she went into freefall - she just decided to be lazy at the same time - ridiculous that she is claiming that eating more stopped her wanting to make her bed. all that high fat dairy is going to constipate - especially if your system is not used to it.
don't you think it's quite sad that it felt "wonderful" to sit on the grass having a picnic - but is going to deny herself that just because she can't let one bit of indulgence in her life - it has to be stark discipline all the way - I feel sorry for her.
That bit about her vomiting straight onto a plate at a dinner party, not wanting hugs in case anyone found any fat and so scared of stretch marks she won't have children - what a barren sterile life - she sounds like she could do with some cognitive behaviour therapy.
it''s an interesting article all the same

| From that article I wouldnt say she was eating "normally". I'm not anorexic but I have never eaten like that in my life. Cauliflower cheese with yorkshire puddings and veg dripping in butter when theres gravy? 4 puddings? Perhaps I'm weird but I dont know anyone who eats like that. | |

| Exactly I don't call it eating normally at all.
It just really get's on my nerves that she's decided to pig out for 3 weeks because she thinks it 'll make a good article, not for any other reason.
She can try and make out it's because the doctor said so but I doubt any doctor would say to go from nothing to eating all that would be healthy.

| I think she just went into a forbidden food frenzy and stuffed down everything down that she has suppressed a desire for - but with her previous habits how could she hope to know what normal eating was like. I think she had a picture in her head of how normal and larger sized folk ate which was nothing to do with reality, but her way of interpreting how other peoples eating habits are so bad that she wouldn't want to be like them anyway so she is better sticking to her spartan ways. | |

| Just followed the link and read the atricle! It sounds like extreme OCD, very controlling and obsessive behaviour. She still looks skinny after eating 'normally' for 3 weeks..not that the foods she ate were by any means normal...the only time in my life I have ever eaten eggs for breakfast was when doing the Atkins diet, but not 3 of them with cream, butter and toast.
I think it was her concept of what a 'normal' or over-indulgent lifestyle would mean to her. In reality she should eat a lot more than she does...but not the high fat, calorific concept that she ate for those 3 weeks. It sounds like two extremes of obsession really. Starvation or gluttony, not normality at all and I'd be shocked if medical advice was sought as to this being a sensible 'experiment' and a 'normal' persons food pattern for her to follow for 3 weeks.
Very, very strange indeed! To be honest...I actually feel a bit sorry for her as she is clearly self-inflicting misery on herself and has a warped idea of food that has affected her whole life especially with regards to relationships with family and friends.
I just don't see the purpose to the article being published by the Daily Mail in the first place really......it reminds me of the 'supersize me' or 'super skinny size zero' cr*p documentary things that are sometimes on tv. Which make us feel annoyed, irritated, patronised etc.

| Ah that explains why they published it then LOL sorry I tend not to read papers I just read the odd link here and there that people post on various sites so I don't know regular columnists! I know on DS they are always saying how size obsessed Daily Mail is regarding women. Oh well....she's still anorexic and therefore has an unhealthy relationship with food herself! Very strange concept she has though of what normal people eat!!

hahaha what an idiot. I also assume she stopped being 'mostly vegan' (hate that phrase) because it's impossible to eat a high calorie vegan diet She annoyed me throughout the entire article, I reckon she built things up in her head far too much. Eating does NOT stop you making your bed you silly woman.

| the posters are up at the gym now and I am now waiting to see how many people are interested in the biggest loser promotion at the gym. They are going to charge £ 30 registration and for that you get a 1 to 1 to set up a gym programme, a personal trainer session and they will be running boot camps too - they are going to take weight and body fat percentage at the start and have a make and female winner with the biggest weight loss - but I think that they must mean percentage. It's going to run over 3 months which is just about perfect as it was just what I was looking for in an intensive regime - so fingers crossed that enough people register I am just clearing the decks housework wise so that I can start getting on with the garden. I feel all positive and cant wait to get started - what is everyone else up to? how is everyone doing? Carol | |

| OOoh Carol - that Biggest loser thing sounds great, what an incentive. I'd pay £30 just for the 1 to 1 and the gym programme. I wonder if my local gym does anything similar - must find out.
Just a quick update on my work colleague, although I dont want to bring anyone down but I feel I need to get it off my chest. It is now being treated as a murder case and the young lad that was with him is still critical - works horrible at the moment. I am trying not to let it affect me but it's hard.

| I saw that in the local paper up here Stella - but didn't want to say as wasn't sure if you would want to say about it - but it must be quite shocking and it will be really difficult atmosphere at work - what a terrible think to happen for all involved. it's great that you are staying motivated despite this all happening - it shows how strong you are ((((hugs))))

| It is the presentation at my sons college tomorrow for his student of the year award. It has a 3 course meal as part of it - so hopefully it will be nothing too unhealthy - but I can always leave it on the plate if it is. I am looking forward to it as I am so proud.
I have been burning the candle at both ends and I need to get an early night so that I can dive to the gym first thing. This has been my first week without college and I can't believe how quick it has flown by. I have spent the day pottering about and making some cards. One of my lads wanted a card for one of his mates that was to be a gothy music rock chick card so I loved making that, and am making some cards for the shop that sells them - I am having a rest day from the exercise but wow do I feel restless.

| Carol - just enjoy the evening regardless of the food. Your son has made a massive achievement and will want to see his mum relaxed and happy.
Glad you're having a good week - sounds like your son has the same tastes as my lodgers son - gothy rock chick sums him up -(obviously not the chick bit) x

| Thanks everyone -I am looking forward to it . Great that they have got to the bottom of it Hastalavegan. I saw a product advertised for dry eyes that you just spray on with your eyes shut - so I am going to try that out. enjoy your day on the couch with cartoons - my lads are a bit too old now and I really miss some cartoons especially team titans, justice league and the batman ones - so dark and they make my inner geek happy lol. Well I am going to see Newton Faulkner on Wednesday so really looking forward to that - it was supposed to be months ago but he injured his hand so it was postponed. Stella my youngest lad has hair like Kyle out of The View and we bleached the fringe and dyed it blue - came out a gorgeous turquoise - but it never lasts long before it goes a yucky green - which is the only colour the school won't allow - and once a week now I go to the bathroom and there is blue dye all over the bath again and another white towel he has used - drives me demented lol - he is getting more independent and goes into Edinburgh with his mates and goes up Cockburn Street which is a great place for alternative clothing - its being around so long I used to get my punk and goth clothes from there a loooong time ago lol | |
