| Absolutely lovely thank you - it was really nice to see my mum and we went to the place where I can have the "Young Guests" menu (the normal menu but smaller portions meant for the under tens lol). The place has unlimited salad cart as well.
I had the original spitroast (snigger) which was a quarter of chicken with a baked potato which I cut in half and left half on another plate so I didnt over face myself and then just piled the plate with the salad. As its meant for the under tens it also comes on a smaller plate so it looked like Id got loads. It was just enough for me and I really enjoyed it.
Mum had garlic butter chicken - half a chicken covered in garlic and chili butter, chips, peas and salad. It looked huge and if they had put that in front of me I think I would have run away lol. Fair play to her though - she polished off the lot!!

| Glad you had a good time hun! Kids meal sounds like a good idea! I bet some places don't let you do that though as they'd rather you pay more and leave it than eat just the right amount for you - if you know what I mean! Salad bars always make salads that are more tempting than I can do at home that's for sure!!
I definitely struggle with eating out as most options are pastry or cheese related. So I find myself shying away from eating out occasions where possible!!

| i have found that its really hard to actually eat healthy in restaurants, even the salads have high calorie stuff on it most meals have hidden calories like cheese, butter, sauces and a lot of it's fried - loads of stuff that I wouldn't even think twice about before and now its like bleurgh. so it's annoying but it makes you appreciate home made food a lot more | |

| The salad bar at this particular restaurant is one where you help yourself so there is no dressing on it - you can choose what salad items go on and what dressing (if any) you put on - its great I had a huge bowl of salad with a tiny bit of low fat dressing, the chicken was spitroasted (giggle again) and the jacket spud was plain. I love that restaurant!!! | |

| Ok I'm starting again today and i'm not going to try to be a saint this time and not eat anything nice, just cut down and then hopefully I can stick at it a bit longer. I'm faced with the reality that my little diet holiday has cost me 6lbs not good Though it could be worse I suppose. Really sad I had to take a smiley away come back soon smiley! | |

| Hey Starbuck - if it's any consolation - i had a week where i put on 6lbs in one week from abandoning my healthy eating and lived off takeaways for the week as i thought that the amount of decorating i was doing would counterbalance it - shows how wrong i was lol.
HW: 22 st 2 lbs CW: 17 st 8 lbs LTW: 2 lb GW1: 16 st 2 lbs (half way there) GW2: 15 st (lost 100 lbs) UG: 10 st 2 lbs
woo hoo last week wasn't a fluke after all - i think the week before, fluid retention masked my actual weight loss so it caught up the next week, plus i think i wasn't eating enough - i have increased my calorie uptake so relieved that it wasn't the wrong decision.

| I tried to be good yesterday but it was my eldest lads 18th and i had a bit of birthday cake, which was chocolate with smarties - i ate the lot without thinking - but bleurgh did i feel sick n bloated afterwards - then we all had takeaway and i had a mixed kebab again really nice whilst I was eating it but felt uncomfortably full after it.
I don't think i am eating enough the rest of the time so this is hopefully the meal that will stop my body going into pound hording starvation mode for this week and let me keep up the momentum for weigh day at the weekend.

| You have to have birthday cake at your lads 18th - its the law!!! Congratulations to your son !! 18 seems so long ago ................
Ive gained a pound but Im still within my maintaining range (Im allowing myself 3lb either side of goal) so Im not overly bothered - I'll just be careful for the rest of the week (can soup playing a large part of my healthy eating for the rest of the week).
Good luck everyone!! | |
