I know - before I would have had a mega plateful and probably gone back for seconds before freezing the leftovers - this time I just had a sensible portion and stopped when I was full -then froze the rest.

thats great progress Stella Smile

well I have had a bad few days as predicted, and last night I had far more to drink than i thought i would as i got a lft, so could drink and had quite a few beers - then when i got back i demolished most of one of the reduced fat matteson smoked sausage on bread, so this weekends weigh in is not going to be pretty - i know it takes about 48 hours for food to have an impact, so am going to have to be extra good the next few days to try n minimise the damage - will have to concentrate as I only have to lose 6 lbs and that is me at 20% of my body weight lol - but ttaht is going to be a bit further away now *shrugs shoulders* It was a great night out so worth it and I wil prob not be out for a drink for at least a month now so not too worried.

Glad you had a good time hun. At least you know you can get back to normality but still enjoy yourself now and again. It would be virtually impossible to never indulge now and again and lets face it - it wouldn't be much of a life really would it?!

I'm still one step forward and two back at the moment, I seem to be really sensible until about 4 or 5pm and then all hell breaks loose. It might be a bit easier now hubby has said he wants to watch what he's eating as well as he won't tempt me with wine, cheese, ice cream, crisps, chocolate etc!!

ooh that always helps when the people you share home with are on board too - WW and Stella seem to have the prob of skinny unhealthy flatmates, but its not something that can be controlled, but when partners come on board it makes a difference as it makes them an ally instead of a potential danger spot - boy I'm waffling this morning lol, I know what i want to say but brain has been replaced by fuzzy white noise lol

Hey all, sounds like you've all had a good week be it weight loss wise, or socialising! I just did a sneaky mid-week weigh in as I was curious to see if the extra exercise I've done this week was having an impact and seem to have lost 2lb this week Smile Fab! However, I've got a pizza in the oven, and cancelled my drinking plans tonight so that I can slob out watching The Wire on DVD with the chocolates I got from the kids at the end of term seeing as I have the flat to myself tonight. I'm now in a quandry because if I can lose another lb by Sundays weigh in that that's me at the 2st milestone. Perhaps I'll just walk miles tomorrow and burn it off! Hmmm.....

The socialising has been great - but i think i have had a lost weekend as far as the healthy eating goes and not been to the gym since Wednesday - so going to pack my gym kit to get back on the wagon and will get to the gym on the way home from work tomorrow n Sunday n get back on track - but i feel better for having such a lazy day of it.

yeay 4Angels - maintaining is great too - well done Smile

Well i went on the scales yesterday then checked at the gym - and the gym was showing lower, and they usually show higher - so I went on the scales this morning and...

HW: 22 st 2 lbs
CW: 17 st 10 lbs
LTW: 5 lb
GW1: 16 st 2 lbs (half way there)
GW2: 15 st (lost 100 lbs)
UG: 10 st 2 lbs

so thats me lost 62 lbs now which is 20% of my body weight - woohoo. I am pretty sure it will probably go up slightly or stay the same next week as that's the pattern when i have a bigger loss than normal - but am still pleased.

I'm sure you will be fine Stella!!

Noticed from another thread you have been making soup to feed a small nation (lol), what type did you make and do you need help eating it!!! I love soup!!! I'm sure I heard somewhere that its a good diet aid as it fills your tummy for longer (was that diet programme on BBC1 recently I think), suppose its not so good if you dip bread and butter in it and go for the rich ones!!!
My fave is homemade cream of mushroom, cream of leek & potato, broccoli & stilton (all are too calorific but bloody lovely the clue is in the 'cream' or cheese part!!LOL) or carrot & corriander (ok calorie wise & tastes fab).

I had homemade tomato and courgette when I was out last week so I might have a go at making that...though it was served with sliced, warm ciabatta bread and butter (torture...so I ate it and had a lower cal evening meal instead!!)

My 3 year old loves whatever soup I make even if it's red pepper soup (which is fiddly to roast peppers & peel skins off!) just have to watch her on the salt intake from the stock though so I usually I make it with much less stock than it needs and syphon her some off before adding the rest of the stock anyway I digress......!!!LOL)

We've got a soup bible so it helps me as I'd probably get quantities of veg/stock all wrong!! I'd like to be able to make a decent veg soup though but no matter what I do or what recipe I follow it always ends up like casserole!!!

Anyway, hope all's well with you queen Stella!!

soup mmmm soup!!!! lol!

I made a veg soup using:

4 carrots
3 sticks celery
head of broccoli
1 potato
1 large onion
2 tins tomatoes
pearl barley
spinach
herbs
smidge of chilli

I now have a massive container full of soup and I've frozen some as well!!! Guess what Im having for tea every night this week lol

I end up doing that as well to either make it go further, be the right consistency or just to add more depth so I bung more stock in....only problem is (and sorry to lower the tone) it doesn't half make you windy!!! Haven't quite established if it is the veg, the stock or a combination of both lol ...wind turbine at the ready!!!!!!! lol!

thats so funny about windy soup lol. you two are hilarious lol.

That's excellent that you have found your balance Stella, it's so motivating that you are maintaining so well.

I m still convinced that Sundays weigh in was a fluke - but am determined not to jump on the scales again until the weekend and act as if i have had a great success to build on. if i can pull off 2lbs a week for the next 4 weeks i will have lost 5 stone by the time i start uni- it's not essential, it's just what I am aiming for.

Woo hoo Irnbru - keep up the willpower to stay off the scales - you may have a nice surprise come Sunday.

Wind warning for the Midlands area - got soup again for lunch so may be some strong gusts this afternoon !! lol!
