We know you're not making excuses Stella and you are right that you need to have some flexibility in what your maintenance weight is. Plus you have to enjoy yourself and live your life as well!!

So pleased things are going well for you hun!!

I'm camera shy too....well not so much shy as in I run a mile when someone points a camera at me - literally!!!! Mother-in-law is always doing that to me and she managed to get a picture of me looking like an albino elephant next to my tanned, tall, slim sister-in-law!!! I forbid them to put it on facebook (and if I'd have got hold of the camera for long enough I'd have deleted it!!!!)

I didnt even know he'd taken a photo till he sent it to me with a message saying thanks from him and the boys for a great day - I dont know what it is, I just cant pose for photos - all my pics on Facebook are ones when I havent known my photo was being taken and someone else put them on there anyway!!

I refuse to believe that you look like an albino elephant (although Im having trouble picturing one)

Things are going great at the moment - first time for a long time!!

Well lets put it this way...she looks like mahogany (fake tan) and I look white-washed. Plus she's size 10 with very long legs and I'm....not a size 10 with little legs!!!

Pale is good - thats what I tell myself anyway. I cant do fake tan I end up looking like a streaky Dale Winton Believe me - Im not just pale - I'm a delicate shade of milk bottle!! If you have to stand next to someone like that in a photo I find a discreet elbow to the ribs just before pic is taken helps

Yeah I try my best on the odd occasion that I use fake tan but the results aren't great. I have had better results with 'Simple light tan' and put lots moisturiser on first, it still has the occasional streak but it has been better than others and it just takes the tinge off the whiteness!!

Someone advised me that Dove was good so Ive been attempting a vague tan with that - only problem is you cant let anything touch it whilst its drying so I end up sitting starkers on the bathroom floor for about ten mins Not easy when you've got two staffies attempting to get in the bathroom to see what you're doing

LMAO Stella!!! Nearly spat my coffee out at the monitor!!! (I've started drinking coffee again btw!!) I do know what you mean though and I have to sit like that with the Simple one for 20 mins, on occasions I have left it 20 mins before going to bed, only to find the imprint of crumpled bedsheets as a streaky pattern!!! I've been told that Dove is a good one as well by a friend of mine who has tried them all. I suspect some of it may be down to technique and the other depends on skin type as mine is very dry and sensitive!

lol at the lying about waiting for it to dry - maybe thats where i went wrong - i got the dove one and rubbed it on and couodn see any difference so put more on and had to go about with a streaky browns patches until it faded - i am way too impatient - dont want to be like that especially with the amount of time i spend stipping down at teh gym lol not to mention seeming to live in the pool at the moment lol

can just imagine two big dogs bursting in and trying to see what they are missing lol - your dogs sound mad Stella.

4Angels - about the photo's I am the exact same - my facebook page is actually a picture of my hubby n I from way back in the 80's when we were attending a wedding & I have this red power suit on and we both have matching perms lol - I do need to get my facebook updated - but keep on chickening out about a photo lol

The Simple fake tan develops several hours later...not sure about the Dove one...whatever the case I usually end up with a darker patch somewhere!

LOL at matching perms Irnbru....I think an old photo is probably not a bad idea though as it looks like you are being a bit retro and cool!! I'll have to put one on from when I was about 5 as from age 10 I hated photos and stopped having them taken!! I just have the generic blank man that they put on if you don't upload a photo.

The Dove one sort of gradually develops - just make sure you wash your hands straight after otherwise you end up with orange palms lol (guess who that happened to?)

As I said - all of my pictures on FB are ones where I didnt know my picture was being taken (apart from one) as Ive said before - I dont "do" photos. I didnt even put the photos on - I had the blank man too for a while until someone put some pics on for me !! (I dont know how to do it lol)

Talking about photos, I have just got Mark to take a photo of me and have finally updated my facebook page

I think what is putting me off the dove tan stuff now is that as i am at the gym I am going to have to do all my legs/arms n how on earth would i do my back ( swimsuit is curved back lol)?

I'll have a look on facebook Irnbru! I still don't think I'll put a photo of me on even though hubby did some ok ones for my passport photo the other day.
I guess I like being on facebook under my married name as I am incognito but a photo would make it obvious!! I hate going to occasions where photos are taken in case I am tagged when they are inevitably put on facebook!!

Anyway.....you'll have to get your hubby to put the fake tan on your back otherwise you might end up stripey!!!! LOL I don't know how long fake tan will last if you swim a lot though!

Be careful Stella as Irnbru lobs food at you and hits innocent bystanders then when you retaliate you hit innocent bystanders as well!!!! I really don't get these applications on facebook!!!!!

Yes - I'm dating Igglepiggle with a can of Strongbow lol - if you look at his pics there is one of me in a blue tshirt taken last weekend at the beach!! Didnt know he'd taken it and hes had a rollicking for putting it on FB - saying that though - I do look quite "svelte"

Not sad at all hun, your weight loss is a fantastic achievement and being romantically happy effects every other aspect of your life as well, so its great that you have found both!!!

Ok I'm off for a bit now as I must go and get showered and dressed as have been up since 6am but still not organised!!!!!...mind you I was chatting to Irnbru til 1230am so have only got myself to blame really!!!

Also being pestered to get off computer so cbeebies website can be put on the screen!!!!LOL!!!!
