| glad to hear it 4Angels I am having a clearout of my wardrobe this morning as so much stuff is too baggy to wear now, so that i can see what i actually do have lurking that will fit, so have a big bagful of stuff to drop off at the clothes bank - if feels damned good to say goodbye to all these size 24/26/28 size clothing and only have 20/22's in there now. I am never ever going back to those sizes and am focusing on getting to a size 20 comfortably next - i may be in 16's by christmas which will be good. | |

| Dont do what I did Irnbru - went a bit too ruthless and cleared out everything and I mean everything that was too big - ended up having to dash to Matalan as after I posted all the stuff into the clothes recycle bin I realised I had literally nothing to wear for work the next day | |

| oops lol that is a bit brutal lol - I have some stuff that is baggy but wlll get away with for the next month or two and have a couple of things that i can get on but feel slightly tight so have enough to get by - i will probably treat myself to a 2 or 3 tops at the end of the month so i have some new stuff for uni. thanks for the reminder though - it does sound like something i would do lol. | |

| It was brutal - I got home from the recyling place feeling all smug that I'd got rid of all of my "fat clothes" and realised suddenly that I had no work skirts or tops - I'd just kept tshirts and the pair of jeans I had on!!! Cue mad dash to Matalan to quickly pick up a skirt and top for the next day | |

| Naughty 4angels today...scales still showed 2lb gain this morning so I have just eaten more than I usually woud do today.
It was a bit hard not to as we took the kids out for the day to Eureka, mind you the only bit they are talking about was going in the glass lift and eating our packed lunch on a static picnic train!! So from now on its the glass lift in the shopping centre which is free!!! LOL!!!

Weighed myself again this morning ahem....no comment...next question please!!! lol!!! think I've got to try a new tactic as this current one is not working!!! Sounds like food by proxy Stella...ie feed someone else the things you really want to eat!!!!

| lol at the shopping centre being the day out of choice for kids lol - maybe you will be lucky 4Angels and they will next be amused by escalators or remote sensor doors hehehe. hey Stella that thing you've got with food for your fella sounds pefect - all the satisfaction but none of the guilt . food by proxy yup like the sound of that. well its my hubby's birthday today so we are going to Jimmy Cheungs al you can eat buffet - as it's his fave - so trying the get the housework out of the way so that i can blast the gym before i go lol. we are then going onto the pictures. one of my lads has a couple of his mates staying and he has requested "pizza n snacky stuff" - so theres another minefield to avoid too lol | |

| Right 4angels - have a word with hubby - you weigh yourself Monday morning then he hides the scales for the rest of the week !! (now have a vision of you hunting round the house for the scales while hes at work!!)
Irnbru - happy birthday to hubby - my downfall at all you can eat chinese is the snacky starters - I can happily avoid all the main courses and rice it's them bloomin spring rolls and bbq ribs and king prawns in batter that get me every time - drooling thinking about them now!!!
Pizza and snacky stuff.................to avoid the minefield get mega thin crust pizza - snacky stuff - I'd get loads of pitta breads and humous dips - go down the "well Jamie Oliver says its good" route lol

| Once a week once a week once a week...what was that again? once a day? lol!! Happy Birthday to your hubby Irnbru, hope you have a lovely day!! Hubby weighs himself at least once a day sometimes twice so maybe we need to get the kids to hide them instead LOL! Mind you they love the scales as well...!!!!...but if I only weighed under 3 stone I would too!!!! This household is obsessed with scales...hubby weighs pasta as well!! He has lost 7lbs in about 10 days !!!! It's great that we are both trying to watch what we eat but its counter productive for me in a way as mine is not budging (in fact it is going back on)!!! Anyway...utterly miserable as feel I can't eat anything whatsoever other than fruit. The only thing that has ever worked well for me is restricting carbs like bread and pasta and eating lots fruit and veg - but then I somehow still struggle digestive system wise (thought I'd phrase it politely!!) despite all the bulky fruit n veg!!!

| well i am pleased to say that i did have a couple of sneaky wee wontons and bits of prawn toast, but mostly stuck with veg and a bit of chicken so enjoyed the meal but didn't go mad. It was just nice getting some time as a couple - could count on one hand how often that happens an never had any of the pizza that night. aww 4angels, I feel for you - i am gradually weaning myself off my carbs and trying to get more protein in and more of my 5 a day - but weight does seem to come off more easy on guys, us women have all that extra fat that mother nature endowed us with lol lucky us eh? it's surprising that you still get bunged up with a high fruit n veg content, poor you, sometimes we just can't win lol. | |

| Glad you had a good time Irnbru! Similar to you, time as a couple is quite rare for us as well! I'm guessing that my weight gain was fluid but 4lbs seems a lot of fluid to me...anyway I am currently only 1lb heavier than my ticker shows but I hope that by Sunday weigh-in that it will have gone (plus another cheeky lb?!!Pleeeease!!!!)....yeah ok...can't get out the habit of scales every day. Once this unexplained 4lb gain has come off I might be able to just weigh every other day, but certainly not once a week even though I know that would be more sensible!!! <- my exercise for the day!!!! | |

| Yeah Stella thats about what I was thinking regarding weigh-in. Feeling a bit zapped as been school-shoe hunting, so though I may not be lighter on the scales my bank account is definitely lighter!!!! | |

| ouch on school uniform costs, good idea about trying to set two days a week - i am managing to stay off the wii to weigh myself until the weekend but weighed myself yesterday for my one to one at the gym and so far it doesn't seem like a fluke. but i do know how hard it is - its taken me a long time to get to the stage i am at now so not going to be a hypocrite & say that you just have to tell yourself - as it's just not that easy so jsut go with the flow n try not to be too down on yourself - it will settle down. | |

| well i have had a great weekend as i was off, and had the biggest loser boot camp, which was quite unimpressive tbh i had to do various tests like a reach test, strength grip test and see how far i could go n 12 mins on the treadmill - and was pleased that i managed 7 km/h at 1% inclne for the 12 mins - but it was hard going. my aim is to eventually get up to 7.5 at 2 % for an hour. The other part was outside on the football courts doing circuits - but i didn't burn that many calories - i thought it would be more gruelling. i have read about some of those boot camp things and they are mental.
They asked at the biggest loser thing that they wanted everyone to do a 10k charity run in October and I am going to do that - two mates are going to do it with me so I will have loads of motivation/encouragement/competition I have downloaded the beginners training programme off their website and am going to incorporate it into my fitness programme.
so getting there, i tell you what though i am pissed off and happy at the same time as a favourite bra of mine is now too small and it feels like it was bought less than two months ago and i feel like i am walking about in poorly fitting clothes all the time now lol - it going to be good to get to Stella's stage where the clothes bought will be the right fit n last for more than two months lol.

| Wow 10k run - I cant even run 1k lol
Its good when you can actually see the weightloss in your clothes - I wore denim hotpants at the weekend (over leggings) - never thought I d be saying that a year ago. This time last year I was wearing baggy tshirts and long skirts.

| Wish my clothes were too baggy!! Well done Irnbru!! Good luck with training for the 10k!
Good for you Stella - being able to wear hotpants!! I'm still on stretchy jeans, loose (ish) t-shirts and bias-cut skirts!!! I feel 'mumsy' and old-fashioned most of the time!!!
Feel like a zombie today....sooo tired!!!!

| Oh man, I can sympathise with the clothes thing Irnbru! I feel like nothing fits properly at the moment. Some of my fail safe outfits are too big to wear, most of my clothes just look sack like and unflatering - irritating after all the hard work - but i don't want to buy too many new clothes as hopefully I will lose more. Gah! | |

| Wonderwoman - yup that's just it - there is no point buying too much- my hubby has just said today about getting some new stuff for uni - but there is no point getting too much - must be ill turning down the chance of some new clothes hehehe.
4angels - i know what you mean - when i sorted out my clothes lat week and passed a lot of stuff onto my mum in law and she loves all the stuff - so that kinda says it all as she is very traditional and quite old fashioned herself - and i def don't want to look mumsy when i go to uni - i don't want to be anyones "mum" there, but i am that used to wearing long tunic tops, A line skirts down to my ankles and covering up as much as is possible that it's kinda weird to move away from that - when i wear a top that doesn't skim my hips i go around all day pulling it down.

| LoL I know what you mean Irnbru about pulling tops down all day if they are a bit more clingy than normal!!
I mainly stick to the same colours as well, black, blue and related colours like purple and teal. I never wear pale colours on my lower half either.
Hubby keeps saying I need to exercise more otherwise I won't lose weight. It's ok for him though as he can go for a run outside (he has run marathons), even with a treadmill I can't run on it or at least not for more than a minute at a time!! I seriously haven't got any energy at the moment though!
I don't think restricting carbs is helping with energy levels and I haven't even lost any weight yet! Disheartened at the moment and don't want to eat anything whatsoever. I could eat 'normally' and still weigh what I do now...am I just being too impatient and at some point my body will come out of shock and the weight will come off?
