have you tried alpro soya chocolate desserts? they're nicer than you might think plus low in cals and sat fat; although the sugar content is still high; mind you if you had it occasionally as a treat it would probably be ok that's the only downside to some low fat alternatives, they do tend to bung a lot of sugar in!

| on my one to ones it's always been cleared as fine to use the swim as a cool down - I don't go to the classes so not using any different muscles than the ones that are well used to my routines by now - I usually just increase the incline and speed or level so not necessary to do cool downs - i just did 20mins treadmill/cycle/crosstrainer - still pleased that by the time I had finished it was 1290 calories - am hungry now mind you - may have to go and get a bowl of special K Carol | |

| I didn't run today, but did end up walking 6 miles. I didn't actually mean to, I walked part of the way to work instead of the bus, which was fine, but then got totally lost on the way back! It was a nice stroll though. Been super good with food as well, so I feel back on track foodwise.
thanks for the alprosoya suggestion kate, I'll take a look. I'm usually pretty good with not having chocolate, but every fortnight or so I just have to have some, I just can't seem to concentrate on anything else, it's like a mini-frenzy. I blame my hormones. It's ok after the mini-frenzy though, I'll be ok with fruits and yoghurts as my sweet treats for another fortnight.

| Go Stella - I know I would really struggle with the whole callinetics - I am impressed. you must be a glutton for punishment if you are going to do it again tonight !! Stripey _ it will be interested to know how you get on with your new callinetics dvd. Hey Starbuck - we all have wee bumps in the road - just shows you are dedicated - straight back into the exercise - way to go Nanny Ogg - A mile a day - wow how many lengths is that? - sounds like a lot - that would take me hours I swim so slow Truffle cart - I meant to say yesterday - walking 6 miles - thats great - from this pedometer challenge - I think i read that 10,000 steps is about 4 miles and that is equivalent of 500 calories - so 6 miles is even better. | |

| I was doing 80 - 100 lengths of the 20 metre gym pool - but I changed gyms and the new gym pool is always so busy and there are a lot more family activity - and loads of people just stand in the water n chat and the pool temperature fluctuates you never know how baltic it's going to be- lol this is fast becoming a rant - suffice to say I usually end up gritting my teeth and doing 10 then throwing in the towel. I also feel a lot more self conscious at this gym pool - the jaccuzi is at the side of the pool and there are loads of posers that just do the "Body beautiful" thing and i hate having to walk past them feeling like "Carol Buddha many bellies and cellulite like the craters of the moon"
Anyway i am pleased as i went for it on the treadmill and managed to do a full on half hour then finished it off with 15 mins on the cycle then 15 on the crosstrainer, so another 1000 calories chalked up - woo hoo. i didn't brave the pool as by the time i had finished that i was an attractive shade of fire engine red and my hair was plastered to my head - a very attractive look so just grabbed my bag and ran lol.

i try and do something most days, but yes i spoke to my gym instructor today and he said i must have two rest days per week if i'm doing heavy intensity stuff, like a 10k run or similar 10k run today and then i did fifty lengths in pool, some of which i did front crawl as i need to keep practising! im just swimming tomorrow

| Thanks Kate I try and mix it so that some days its heavy cardio and other days i concentrate on the weights so that it's different muscle groups - I am intending on doing some classes again - but again waiting until i get college done first. I love the spinning classes - but so sore on the butt lol, I love body pump as well - it should be easier when i am not balancing it with essays and exams - i really fancy trying boxing as well. | |
